Living on the Central Coast and working for Keys 2 the Coast, finding the best places to wine, dine, explore and more is a gift.
Yesterday, I discovered the most delicious, aged red wines at Cottonwood Canyon Winery. It is truly an impressive facility, located at the northern edge of the Foxen Canyon Wine Trail in Santa Maria. Cottonwood Canyon Winery has become known for their distinctively different, age-worthy wines. I had the pleasure of tasting the 2007 Hillside high-density Pinot Noir. Aged to perfection, it is bold, smooth and bursting with cherry and plum notes, with a spicy finish. The 2008 Michelle’s Hillside Signature Pinot Noir is a deep red Pinot with “soft” earthy tones, featuring aromas of oak and a hint of cranberry.
I highly recommend that you come to enjoy the wine and let your cares melt away, as you enjoy the spectacular view of 78 acres of green rolling hills and vineyards, to delight and relax the soul. In addition, Rick Mooney our host was most charming and obviously missed his calling as a comedian.
Numerous indoor and outdoor seating areas provide the perfect venue to meet with friends or clients to sip a glass of wine, brainstorm or simply solve all of the world’s problems. Cottonwood Canyon Winery is a must stop… at 3940 Dominion Road, in the heart of Central California’s Wine County.
