City of San Luis Obispo
San Luis Obispo is considered the happiest place in the United States. They have something fun to experience for all ages. Downtown San Luis Obispo is a great place for shopping, having some amazing food and a great nightlife. Many people visit downtown for their famous Bubblegum Alley or their local Thursday Night Farmer’s Market.
While walking around downtown one day, I stopped into Eureka!. They are well known for their burgers and localizing their menu. They are located on the corner of Chorro and Marsh Street. When you walk into the door, you can see their chalkboard filled with local craft beer and wine selections. After you are seated, you have great views from the large windows out to the street, even from upstairs. If you are a people watcher, you will love this place for more than just the food.
For a starter, the mushroom toast is a great combination of creamy and sweet deliciousness. They start with a small piece of toasted baguette, topped with house-made goat cheese. Then they add an exotic mushroom medley with arugula, lemon zest, and a balsamic glaze.
The mushroom toast was creamy and delicious.
At Eureka! you can never make a wrong choice. They have a variety of burgers meant to satisfy anyone’s taste. The Bone Marrow Burger is a very tender burger, made with shiitake bone marrow butter, topped with charbroiled onions, horseradish mustard aioli and roasted tomato. This was one of the best burgers I have ever had. It was tender and cooked to perfection. I chose to add a side of steamed broccolini with roasted peppers and cheese. Broccolini is a cross between broccoli and a Chinese broccoli.
Eureka! is a great place to stop and eat after you have done some shopping and exploring. They have a great rotating selection of craft beer for the beer-lover in your life. They offer brunch on Saturdays and Sundays and happy hour every day of the week between 2 PM to 6 PM and from 9 PM to close.
Eureka is a cry of joy or satisfaction when one finds or discovers something. You will cry with joy after eating at Eureka!.
