Stax Wine Bar in beautiful Morro Bay is a cut above the rest. Whereas most wine clubs offer the same wines year after unoriginal year, Stax features over one hundred wines from local and international sources.
They hunt high and low for the best from California and elsewhere. As if that wasn’t enough, they offer food and weekly specials. For example, Mondays are 3$ Mimosas day, Wine Down Wednesdays are 2 for 1 wine tasting, Saturdays are 10% off any bottle, and oysters are 1 buck! In addition to this, they feature live music on Thursdays
You can also plan a party or get-together at Stax, which is a surefire way to have a great time. Saying they have a variety of wines is an understatement, and they feature Red, White, Pink, Bubble, Import, and Dessert wines. If you happen to be more in the mood for a cold brew, they have awesome local beers on tap too. Wine tasting is almost always a good time, but getting a great deal on it? Even better.
They offer a flight of 5 wines for just ten bucks, with 3 wines from the Central Coast, one from Santa Lucia, and one from France. Sundays are Sparkling Wine tastings, which are an interesting diversion from your standard wine tasting.
Stax’s food pairings include shrimp cocktails, locally-sourced oysters, olive platters, and items like Tapenade and Filet Mignon Crostini, (complete with Pesto Sauce)
All in all, Stax Wine Bar is a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and indeed, the common and sterile wine tasting experience. Come down on a Thursday, drink with friends, enjoy some food and live music, and enjoy a taste of the finer things in life.
